$10,000 REWARD OFFERED TO SOLVE 2021 MURDER OF SAILOR IN LA MESA

January 11, 2024 (La Mesa) – La Mesa police seeks public help to solve the murder of 22-year-old Corneilius Donte Brown.  His family is offering a $9,000 reward, in addition to a $1,000 Crimestoppers award, for information leading to the identification and arrest of suspects in his murder, which occurred on April 24, 2021 around 12:26 a.m.

According to witnesses, Brown, 22, answered a knock at the front door of his residence at 4306 Echo Court in La Mesa. The two suspects were described as black males, wearing ski masks and black hooded sweatshirts.  One fired multiple shots at Brown.

Officers arrived within four minutes of receiving calls reporting gunshots, according to Officer Katy Lynch with La Mesa Police.  Brown, suffering gunshots to his upper body, was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died during surgery.

The suspects ran southbound on Echo Court, then eastbound on Echo Drive.
