The Aggies pulled away from there with SDSU not making another field goal until it cut the lead to five with three seconds remaining.

"We haven't made enough timely plays down the stretch. That's usually what the difference is," said Head Coach Brian Dutcher after the game. "You've got to make a timely play or two and I've watched them blow teams out in here. We fought. We held them to a pretty decent point total, 68 points when they're averaging close to 80 in here."

Utah State outshot the Aztecs from the field (49.0%-42.9%) and from the beyond the arc (31.8%-15.8%) while San Diego State was better from the free throw line (80.0%-73.3%).

San Diego State outscored Utah State off turnovers (20-7) and in bench points (28-6) but the Aggies scored more in the paint (36-26).

San Diego State will play at Fresno State on Saturday in SDSU's final weekend game of the regular season. With a 7 p.m. tip time, the game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and San Diego Sports 760.
