$1.5 MILLION SETTLEMENT FOR SDPD SEX ABUSE CASES

April 29, 2015 (San Diego) – San Diego’s City Council on Tuesday approved a $1.5 million settlement in payouts to women who sued the city over sexual misconduct and abuse charges involving San Diego Police officers.

Three woman claimed they were sexually abused by former officer Christopher Hays, who faced criminal charges. Another alleged that Officer Donald Moncrief groped her and exposed himself to her after arresting her. He was not charged with a crime but later left the police force.
