April 16, 2016 (San Diego) -- A powerful 7.8 earthquake has struck the coast of Ecuador, killing at least 28 people. There are also many injuries and collapsed buildings, including a hotel.

CNN reports that evacuations are underway as a precaution in coastal areas due to potential risk of a tsunami.

per Ecuador's president.
That's a Big One!
I can remember three quakes in the past 40 years were strong enough to cause a crack in a wall and made the utility lines sway. I ran outside and so did some neighbors.
My TV is attached to the AV cabinet and pictures are screwed to the wall.
