August 5, 2015 (Lemon Grove) – Cosimo Ingrande, 49, has been arrested for drunk driving after causing three collisions and damaging five vehicles early this morning in Lemon Grove and San Diego, Sergeant Michelle McPhail with the San Diego Sheriff reports.

The bizarre chain of events began shortly before 7 a.m., when Sheriff deputies from the Lemon Grove substation responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of College Avenue and Federal Boulevard in Lemon Grove.  A white Ford F-250 pickup truck had struck a Caltrans freeway sign before continuing the wrong way on Federal Boulevard, heading west in the eastbound lanes and striking a light pole and vehicle.

The driver kept going, crossing over a center median and colliding with three more vehicles headed southbound on College Avenue. He then drove north in the southbound lanes of College Avenue, crossed over the center median again and turned east onto Livington Street.  There he was involved in two more collisions in San Diego, where he was finally stopped and arrested by deputies for driving while intoxicated.

The driver was treated at a hospital for a head laceration. A female driver of another vehicle was also taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Lemon Grove Traffic Division and the San Diego Police Department are investigation the collisions.
