January 1, 2014 (San Diego) – “The end of 2014 has come and despite the cold air and low snow levels,  the year will end up being the warmest on record,” Alex Tardy, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in San Diego says.. “2014 also featured the worse 3 year drought for the state of California. The drought continues, but the year was also full of interesting and impacting weather events across southern California.”

IS A WET WINTER ON THE WAY?

November 26, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) – A strong Pacific storm may bring significant precipitation to the entire state early next week, Mark Moede, lead forecaster for the National Weather Service in San Diego, predicts. A strong probability of rain is forecast here between November 30th and December 4th.

FROST WARNING: FREEZING CONDITIONS

 

November 15, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) – The National Weather Service has issued a frost warning for the high desert areas.  As cold air filters into the deserts and winds drop off, clear skies and very dry air will allow temperatures to plummet by Monday morning.
