June 1, 2012 (Jacumba) – Local artist Bill McGee is showing two pieces of his work at the Jacumba Library, 44605 Old Highway 80, during the month of June. The artwork will be for sale and McGee will donate all proceeds to the Jacumba library and the Mountain Health Center, except for a small amount to be used to replenish his paints.

McGee is a highly accomplished artist whose paintings have been purchased by celebrities and tycoons.  He lives modestly outside of Jacumba with his 10 rescued dogs.  His American Primitive Abstract art is a genre he created.

The two paintings McGee is exhibiting are to be sold as a set.  They are protest paintings that he painted 42 years apart.  Country Joe & the Fish was painted in 1970 and Arab Spring was painted in 2012.

See the flyer for the event here.

Primative Abstract Art and the Artist

Bill McKee (NOT McGee)has plenty of imagination and a sure-fire way of putting images on canvas. He's a walking "primitive abstract" himself! Jus' kiddin'!

Good Luck, Bill.
