ARTIST LEENA HANNONEN TO SHOW CURRENT WORK AT WYNOLA PIZZA

January 20, 2012 (Julian) -- Leena Hannonen, long time Pine Hills resident and artist who has mastered a variety of art forms ranging from sculpture to art photography, will display a collection of her latest and best work at Wynola Pizza beginning January 31.

She has shown her photos, jewelry and sculptures at the Julian Library and participated in several Julian Art Guild show. She also operated her own gallery in Wynola for several years.

The upcoming show in Wynola will feature photo images created for the 100 Project involving a group of artists including writers, painters, poets and photographers contribute works to an online blog once a day for 100 days.

“I’ve just completed my fourth one, daily snapshots from my life,” Hannonen explains. “I was invited to the first one. There were 20 artists from all over. We all post in a group on Facebook.”

A native of Finland, she moved to Julian in 1999, where she opened her studio. Where  she explored sculpture, painting, mixed media and fine silver jewelry and photography. She also specializes in vintage enhanced landscapes, portraits, glamour shots, boudoir and real estate photos.

There will be a reception on opening night, Jan. 31, running from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Wynola Pizza is located at 4355 Hwy. 78.
