March 9, 2016 (San Diego) -- Speaker Emeritus Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) has introduced legislation that would close several gaps when it comes to providing screening and treatment for breast and cervical cancer to low-income Californians.

Tax penalties kick in for uninsured this year

February 8, 2015 (San Diego) – February 15th is the deadline to sign up for health insurance this year under Covered California, the state’s exchange for purchasing insurance under the Affordable Care Act, which requires every American to have health insurance.
