May 5, 2016 - (El Cajon) - Remember when you were in the theatre program in high school? Perhaps even El Cajon Valley High School?  They have this beautiful little old theatre which I'm sure housed many many of you and your plays over the years. Remember how nice it would be or would have been to perform in front of a full house? A real confidence booster to feel people are here to see me. I matter.

El Cajon Valley High School is still putting on plays twice a year, and yes, they need you to make a difference. Come make a difference. Introduce your kids to theatre. Bring a friend, give up a couple hours of television, to make a difference in someone's life.

Little Shop of Horrors is the story of the nerdy Seymour who works at Mushnik's flower shop on skid row. He's in love with Audrey the other worker, so when he finds this unusual plant, he calls it Audrey 2. The plant grows and grows when you feed it blood. Which brings fame to the shop and Seymour before taking over his life.

Audrey 2, the plant, is truly the star of this one. The job they did creating the plants and brining them to life. Audrey the flower shop worker is also a bright note. Played by Kaylee Mueler, she's sort of a younger Rebel Wilson, and she can sing. Jesus Eder played the smitten Seymour with total heart. John Flores, played the shop owner Mr. Mushnic, doin a fine job brining him to life. Orin Scivello, played the dentist/boyfriend of Audrey and brought the humor to the show. The most enthusiatic of the group. As for the others, the walk on's were great. Olivia Skubski, as the customer, fabulous, whoever played the Life Magazine people, great, as all the bit players.

The three girls, Ronette, Crystal, and Chiffon, are a big part of the show. With tons of costume changes. They did great on that note. Rieshawnz Fourqyrean, as Ronnette, sang nicely and showed a little spunk. The other two girls, Sarah Aiden and Ayanna Angeletta (love the name), but they (and I hate to say anything bad about students) but maybe this will promt them for the final performances. The two sort of phoned this one in, with their expressionless faces. Perhaps they need you for a full audience to bring them to life.

The program cover is great. The streetlights are great, and the costumes are wonderful.

After ten weeks of hard work, these students deserve some love. Come out and help make someone's dream come to life.
