SDSU leads its series against New Mexico by the count of 98-61. The Lobos have won 18 of the last 25 meetings between the teams dating back to the 2008 season. That mark includes the Lobos winning five of six during the 2012 regular season as well as the contest between the teams in the championship game of the 2012 Mountain West tournament. San Diego State has a record of 63-27 vs. UNM in San Diego, 31-30 in Albuquerque and 4-4 on neutral fields.

He also drew four walks and was hit by pitch to record a .692 on-base percentage for the series vs. the Rebels. DERBY SAVES

Freshman closer Bubba Derby made two appearances last weekend during the series against UNLV and picked up a save and a win. On Friday he tossed a perfect ninth inning to preserve SDSU's 5-3 victory and earn his sixth save of the year. On Sunday he entered the contest in the top of the ninth with the Aztec trailing 4-3 and UNLV having runners at first and second with one out. He retired the next two batters and was credited with the win when SDSU rallied in the bottom of the ninth. Derby has made a total of 11 relief appearances this season covering 14.1 innings and has struck out 19 batters. His six saves rank second in the Mountain West this week.

MILLER TOUGH ON THE MOUND

In the process he lowered his team-leading earned run average to 1.50. His overall ERA ranks second in the conference this week while his 0.00 ERA in league contests (7.0 innings) ranks first.
