February 23, 2013 (La Mesa)-- Brew Ha Ha’s comedy team, Chris Clobber and Diane Jean, had all of us in stitches at the Holiday Inn Mesa Grill on 8000 Parkway Drive last night. The benefit, held to benefit the East County Magazine, Viejas Alerts, and the upcoming launch of ECM’s radio show on KNSJ, was well attended.

“I am happy to be here for independent radio,” said Clobber, who has done two tours with the USO entertaining our troops and has also appeared on Comedy Central and HBO. Jean commented, "Brew Ha Ha Comedy does lots of events and we loved doing this one because the People from East County Magazine are as crazy as we are."

Jokes ranged from animal tales to guns, politics, sex, menopause and dating. Clobber, who conducts comedy tours at the San Diego Zoo when not onstage, also entertained the audience with a variety of animal imitations.  (His tale of a beckoning bear is the stuff of legends.)  Jean is a local talent, born and raised in Lakeside; “and I still have all my teeth,” she quipped.

The only downside?  It was hard to take notes, or take photos, when you are laughing so hard.

Like at other ECM events, there were raffles for baskets and prizes, including zoo tickets, El Cajon Brewery food, a winery tour, and a Viejas basket.

Thanks to all of our generous donors and supporters!
