September 27, 2016 (San Diego) - After a good series against the Giants, the Padres welcomed another NL West foe to town, the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Kenta Maeda started for the Dodgers against Paul Clemens.

The Padres came out guns blazing after their day off.  The rookie Hunter Renfroe blasted a three-run homer in the first to give the Padres a 3-0 lead.

Chase Utley hit a solo home run in the third to start the Dodgers’ creep back as the Padres led 3-1.

Renfroe made his presence known in the big leagues in a big way in the bottom of the eighth with a grand slam--the first of his career and his second home run of the night--that gave the Padres a huge 7-1 win in game one.

Game two is tomorrow at 7:10 p.m.  Jose De Leon will start for the Dodgers against Luis Perdomo.
