May 30, 2014 (San Diego) – An all-day writing fundraiser is planned on Sunday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 5  p.m. to benefit Writers Ink programs for the San Diego writing community.

The nonprofit offers classes, workshops and other literary events at the Ink Spot and Inspirations Gallery at NTC in Liberty Station. Participants can join the writing marathon or sponsor a writer.

Local poet Jim Hornsby Moreno is among those participating.  He’s pledged to donate a signed copy of his latest book with CD of music and poetry to anyone who donates $25 or more. Moreno is a City Heights resident.

“Writers, Ink brought me on board to be a bridge to young writing students in Southeast San Diego,” Moreno states. “Your contribution will help me continue this work.” The date and time for the workshop by "Writers, Ink" is Sunday, July 20, 2014, 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.

"Writers, Ink" is in Point Loma at:
