November 1, 2014 (Ramona) - Unicorn Books and Gifts, 738 Main Street, Ramona, CA 92065 will be hosting a book signing on Thursday, November 6th at 6:00 pm to present local Ramona author, Timothy Daniels second novel, “An Ongoing Investigation.” This book draws on the author's experience as a border agent assigned to "Operation Alliance" and as a supervisor of special agents conducting border narcotics investigations.
About the Book:
It's winter in San Diego, and U.S. Customs Special Agent Jimmy Maxwell is working hard at Operation Alliance, a border narcotics task force trying to stem the flow of narcotics being smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico. During one of his investigations, an attempt is made on his life, followed by a handful of other attempts over the course of the next several months. As Jimmy fights to stay in San Diego against the wishes of management, who want him moved for his own safety and that of his co-workers, Jimmy's love interest, Margie Gray, begins showing signs of stress. She's not only worried about Jimmy's safety, but that she will likely be transferred to Washington, D.C. As tensions mount, Jimmy struggles with his choices, even as the ongoing investigation finally comes to a head. There's trouble brewing in San Diego!
About the Author:
Timothy Daniels spent a good portion of his career working as a U.S. Customs (later U.S. ICE) special agent assigned to Operation Alliance in San Diego. He was a supervisor of a group of special agents conducting border narcotics investigations. “There are a plethora of stories available, as there are several thousand cases worked each year by the Customs Service, DEA, and local police detectives assigned to the Operation Alliance office.” He grew up in rural Washington State, retired in 2009, and lives in San Diego. This book is a sequel to his first novel, A Target Rich Environment.
