November 7, 2011 (El Cajon) – The East County Toy and Food Drive needs community support to brighten the holidays for the many children in need this season. Tomorrow morning from 7-9 a.m., a hearty breakfast will be served up at Hometown Buffet, 390 West Main Street in El Cajon.

Cost is just $10 and includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, hash browns, cinnamon rolls, toast bar, oatmeal, fruit, and beverages. Hometown Buffet will donate 70 percent of proceeds to the East County Toy and Food Drive. Tickets will be available at the door.

The toy and food drive is run by the Salvation Army and was started 36 years ago by Stoney Stone with a group of business leaders who wanted to help those less fortunate.

For more information, including how to apply to help for families in need and where to donate items or funds, see www.salvationarmyelcajon.com or call Jane Moore at (619)977-1712. There are several application dates in November, ending Nov. 23.
