CALIFORNIA TRIBAL BUSINESS ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS FOR 2012

 February 3, 2012  (Sacramento) --The California Tribal Business Alliance (CTBA) has announced the group’s new officers for 2012. 

CHAIRWOMAN - Leslie Lohse, Treasurer of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians of California.
VICE-CHAIRMAN - Robert Smith, Chairman of the Pala Band of Luiseño Indians.
SECRETARY-TREASURER - Margie Mejia, Chairwoman of the Lytton Rancheria of California.

 

Incoming CTBA Chairwoman Leslie Lohse has served as Tribal Council Treasurer of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians of California since 1998. Lohse has also chaired and sat on numerous committees over the years and currently serves on the California Native American Heritage Commission and Tehama County Girls,Inc.

CTBA Vice-Chairman Robert Smith has served as Chair of the Pala Band of Luiseño Indians dedicated himself toward improving the way of life for the members of the Tribe for more than two decades. Smith takes great pride in being actively involved in the community and lends his time to serving on boards for a number of organizations.
CTBA Secretary-Treasurer Margie Mejia serves as Tribal Chairwoman of the Lytton Rancheria of California, a position she has held since 1995. In addition, Mejia serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Casino San Pablo. She also serves as the tribe’s representative at various community and political events, driving nearly 80,000 miles annually. As chairwoman, Mejia presides over all meetings of the Tribal Council.
The CTBA was formed in 2004 by California Indian tribes interested in developing partnerships and coalitions with like-minded governments and with business,community and civic organizations, with the intent to build productive alliances based on mutual respect and cooperation. The CTBA's three members are the Lytton Rancheria of California, the Pala Band of Luiseño Indians, and the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians of California.
CTBA staff continues to be Chris Lindstrom, Executive Officer; David Quintana, Political Director; and Roger Salazar, Communications Director.
