Special Event Procedures Also On Agenda

August 27, 2011 (Alpine)—The Alpine and East County Rural Sheriff’s Stations will host a Community Permit & Licensing Awareness Forum on Thursday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alpine Community Center, 1830 Alpine Blvd in Alpine.

“We encourage you to have at least one representative attend, especially for service organizations sponsoring parades and fairs,” said Paula Dickenson, USN retired, crime prevention specialist. Agencies participating include Sheriff’s Licensing, California Highway Patrol (CHP), County Roads, Department of Environmental Health, Alcoholic Beverage Control, and more.

The event is geared toward anyone who may need a permit/license for an event or a business, now or in the future. Temporary community procedures will also be discussed.

“Receiving a permit or license within the County is ever-evolving,” Dickenson said, adding that there have recently been “unintentional missteps” regarding the process due to the current procedures. “To that end, having the Agencies come to us in the East County and explain some of these procedures and changes is a welcome addition to our communication.”

This event is free. To RSVP, contact Paula Dickenson at (619)659-2608 or paula.dickenson@sdsheriff.org.
