May 16, 2011 (El Cajon) – Captain Darren Norton and his wife, Mary, will be transferred from the Salvation Army’s El Cajon headquarters to accept new assignments as the Corps Officers at the Pasadena Tabernacle Corps effective June 29th. Captain North has headed up many activities in East County for the Salvation Army, including the annual East County Toy & Food Drive each holiday season as well as efforts to help fire survivors.

Captains Terry and Rutendo Masango, who are currently the Officers in Renton, Washington, have been appointed the new Corps Officers of the El Cajon Corps.

“We know that you will offer them the same encouragement, support and faithful service that we have enjoyed in our time here,” said Captain Norton in a press statement. He added, “We have been truly blessed to worship, work and serve with you these past seven years here in El Cajon and the wider East County community. Please keep us and the Masangos in your prayers these next few weeks.”
