FORMER MEXICAN AMBASSADOR TO SPEAK AT SDSU SEPTEMBER 12

August 21, 2016 (San Diego) -- Ambassador Earl Anthony “Tony” Wayne will be speaking at San Diego State University Monday, September 12, 2016 about Building a Partnership with Mexico. He will speak on the state of relations between our two countries, including economic and commercial relations, public security, law enforcement, energy and the environment as part of the Charles W. Hostler Institute on World Affairs Lecture Series.

According to publications for the event, Ambassador Earl Anthony "Tony" Wayne has held a variety of diplomatic and policy positions in Washington and U.S. embassies, including U.S. Ambassador to Mexico from 2011 through July 2015, and Kabul, Afghanistan, as Coordinating Director for Development and Economic Affairs and then as Deputy U.S. Ambassador from 2009 to 2011. Before departing the country, Wayne was given Mexico's Order of the Aztec Eagle, the highest Mexican order awarded to foreigners. 

The event will be held from 7-8 p.m. September 12 in the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center located at 5250 55th Street San Diego, CA 92115 at San Diego State University.

Clarification: Earl Anthony Wayne was the US Ambassador to Mexico, not the Mexican Ambassador.
