February 20, 2017 (Santee) – A SWAT team stand-off in the 8500 block of Massery Lane in Santee has ended peacefully.

The incident began this morning, when deputies responded to a report of a man who violated a restraining order. While en route, deputies learned that the suspect was armed with a handgun. Upon arrival, deputies heard a discussion coming from inside the house about the gun and were able to get two people to come outside. The suspect refused to exit, so crisis negotiators were called, along with the Sheriff’s special enforcement detail.

After several hours, the suspect exited the home and was taken into custody.  He was booked into San Diego Central Jail, said Sergeant Kenneth Lawrence.

How many monkeys does it take....

According to news reports there were members of the Santee, Lakeside, and Alpine sheriffs, SED and SWAT, and a Crisis Negotiating Team. How much did their six hours of efforts cost?
Not mentioned was paramedic or ambulance response to the event.
Offer the man a sandwich and a coke and give him some time to calm down.
