December 19, 2014 (Jacumba Hot Springs) –A Superior Court Judge has approved the release of sexually violent predator Gary Snavely to be housed in Jacumba Hot Springs:

Supervisor Dianne Jacob issued this statement condemning the decision. “With this latest placement, the court is once again undermining public safety in the name of trying to rehabilitate a monster,” the Supervisor says. She adds, “Gary Snavely is a sick man who molested young girls. He belongs behind bars, not in a quiet, family-friendly community. Each time a judge allows one of these sexually violent predators to be housed in a neighborhood, it robs residents of peace of mind and costs taxpayers an outrageous amount of money.”

Jacumba Hot Springs residents have valid reason for concern.  Earlier this year another predator being monitored at a residence in the community was arrested after reportedly molesting an elderly woman living nearby.
