Largest Outdoor Marijuana Grow Seizure on Private Property in San Diego County History

July 6, 2012 (Warner Springs) – On June 30 and July 1, 2012, DEA/NTF (Narcotics Task Force) conducted a marijuana eradication operation in the unincorporated area of Warner Springs called Sunshine Summit. A State of California search warrant was obtained for the 40 acre parcel of private property which concealed the marijuana plants.

There were approximately 41,000 marijuana plants located with an estimated wholesale value of $41,000,000.00.  No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Water was being supplied from two large water tanks on the property. A 30 round magazine for a semi-automatic weapon was located at the base of the water tank, along with chemicals used to fertilize the plants.  This grow operation was so large, it took 35 officers/agents two days to dismantle.
