Gastil is seeking his second term on the City Council, while Vasquez, who currently serves as a City of Lemon Grove Planning Commissioner, is seeking her first.

“Both Gastil and Vasquez are the only two City Council candidates that have the support of both the Firefighters and Sheriffs,” said Deputy Sheriffs' Association of San Diego County (DSA) Director Tim Petrachek. “Their commitment to the maintaining and improving security is unparalleled.”

The DSA is the professional labor organization that represents more than 2,000 sworn deputies of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, including Lemon Grove.

“I am proud to have the support of our Sheriffs and Firefighters,” said Gastil. “The deputies who serve Lemon Grove are our partners in keeping this community safe,” he added.

“We are privileged to have some of the best sheriffs and firefighters right here in Lemon Grove,” said Vasquez.  “They unselfishly protect our community, and both George and I will strive to ensure they receive all the support and resources necessary to keep our community safe.”
