June 10, 2014 (San Diego’s East County)--East County has plenty of activities to enjoy this weekend, including some designated for Father’s Day. However, many of the events this weekend might be interesting for Dad and the family to enjoy. Plus, we have a major festival in El Cajon that is number one on our list.

El Cajon’s America on Main Street will be held on Saturday, June 14 in Downtown El Cajon from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. The event is a family-friendly community festival that celebrates the American spirit through appreciation and respect for the many diverse, ethnic, and historical groups in the community. Highlights include two stages with live entertainment, American and ethnic food booths, a Ferris wheel, rides, arts, crafts, display booths, a petting zoo, a rock wall, a Fiesta de Futbol street soccer event, and more.

This patriotic event is planned to coincide with the nationally recognized Flag Day. Additionally, there will be a special “Red, White & Blue” area saluting our military.

Location: East Main Street and Rea Avenue, between Magnolia and Claydelle Avenues. For more information, call 619-441-1762.

*Volunteers are needed for this fun event! If you are interested in being a volunteer or community sponsor for this inaugural event, please call 619-441-1762.
