April 28, 2016 (El Cajon) - The 2016 Dinner and a Concert season is here, Brought to you by the Downtown El Cajon Business Partners. View the dates and bands at www.downtownelcajon.com.

This is a free weekly event, held every Friday night from May 6th through September 30th with a different local band performing in the popular Prescott Promenade Park from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Located at 201 E. Main St. in downtown El Cajon, this is a fantastic venue for live, outdoor music.

Several restaurants are nearby, thus the term “Dinner and a Concert” Enjoy a satiating meal then walk over to the park for some delightful, no cost entertainment that will pleasure your soul.

Try Nicolosi’s Italian Restaurant, El Mariachi Mexican Food, Mezzah Mediterranean Food, Downtown Café and Por Favor. All of these places offer super delicious, and reasonably priced food. Starbucks, Quiznos, Subway and Santana’s Mexican Grill to name a few, are nearby as well, for those who prefer the familiar fare. Albeit they are further away.

This years season begins on May 6th  with some sure to be lively, foot stompin’ country rock style music performed by the Clay Colton Band.

Listen to some of their music and you’ll find out why they’re so popular at the many places they’ve played. These folks are very talented. The blues style and heartbreaking ’ Daddy’s Last Dance’ is very touching.  You can read more about them at   www.claycolton.com.

Twenty two bands are scheduled this year, with a wide variety of genres. A nice variety of music for nearly everyone’s enjoyment.

Rockin’ the house at season’s end on September 30th will be The Petty Breakers. (a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute band). Their renditions are so good, you just might be amazed if you’ve never heard this band play before. www.pettybreakers.com
