SIX ARRESTED IN SWEEP OF ILLEGAL DISPENSARIES

July 29, 2020 (San Diego) – Yesterday morning, Tuesday, deputies and investigators from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, assisted by San Diego and Chula Vista police officers, served search warrants at five illegal marijuana dispensaries in Spring Valley, Lakeside, and Chula Vista. Search warrants were also served at two related residences in Jamul and San Diego, as well as a storage facility in Spring Valley, says Sergeant Zheath Sanchez with the Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators seized more than 1.1 million dollars in cash, as well as more than 3,000 pounds of marijuana, marijuana edibles, concentrated cannabis, suspected Psilocybin mushrooms, and twenty firearms including three semi-automatic rifles.

CALIFORNIA SEEKS TO HALT ONLINE LISTINGS OF UNLICENSED DISPENSARIES

April 5, 2018 (San Diego) -- Recently, California’s Bureau of Cannabis Control has requested that online services cease listing unlicensed dispensaries operating in violation of state cannabis regulations. Several prominent online dispensary finder services have chosen to ignore this guidance from state regulators and continue to list unlicensed dispensaries.  But others are pledging to fully comply with state regulations by steering customers only to licensed dispensaries.

SUIT FILED AGAINST CITY BY MARIJUANA ACTIVISTS

May 3, 2014 (San Diego)—The Union of Medical Marijuana Patients has filed a lawsuit against the City of San Diego. The lawsuit contends that new regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries are too restrictive and won’t allow enough dispensaries to meet the needs of patients throughout the city.
