January 1, 2015 (Boulevard) – Boulevard resident Pam Lawless has launched a drive seeking donations of doghouses or igloo-style shelters for backcountry dogs in her community.

“We get blizzards and there is a great need for them,” she states, adding that some rural residents leave dogs outdoors even in winter weather, the Alpine Community Network reports. “I would be more than willing to come and pick them up from anyone who has one they are willing to donate.”

Lawless adds that she would like to make the doghouse drive an annual effort, and seeks help from community partners.

If you have a doghouse to donate or wish to help, contact Pam.Lawless@gcccd.edu or call her at (619)964-1181.
