June 4, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – Summer has unofficially begun--and the best food buys are perfect for summer entertaining. So plan to purchase now to be prepared to take advantage of savings and be ready for summer visitors. Plus check for deals on items for school, home and office.

• Ice Cream
• Popsicles
• Soda
• Bottled water
• Iced tea mix and tea bags

Tools - But the best news of all is the best buy for non-food items are tools, which is great because it’s time to shop for Father’s day which is Sunday, June 2oth the day before the actual start of summer in the northern hemisphere. This is is the time of year that many do-it-yourselfers start projects, now you save time and money by having the right tools to complete the job.

Laptops- Now that the school year has ended laptops are no longer in such demand and the prices for them will be lower and more discounted. So if you are planning to buy for the upcoming school year, now is a good time to shop and save money.

TWO ITEMS NOT TO BUY IN JUNE

Jewelry- June is the beginning of the wedding season so this is the most expensive time of year to purchase that engagement or wedding ring. Due to the high demand, jewelry stores have no incentive to discount. If you buy now you will pay top dollar.

Luggage- Many people travel when school is out of session so June begins the travel season and retailers charge premium prices for new luggage. Can you get a couple months use of your current luggage? If you can hold off on that purchase and you will save money.
