DRIVER HITS TWO TREES, SENDS ENGINE FLYING IN LA MESA

December 18, 2010 (La Mesa) – A driver lost control of his vehicle on a rain-slicked roadway in the 5800 block of Lake Murray Blvd. at 1:15 this morning. The vehicle, which was traveling southbound, struck a large tree on the center median, then spun out of control and hit another tree. The force of the impact dislodged the engine and transmission. The engine was fond in the driveway of a home about 25 yards away.

The driver fled from the collision scene and was located at the intersection of Fletcher Parkway Drive and Baltimore Drive. He was transported by paramedics to a hospital for treatment of a laceration to his head and a complaint of pain in his torso. The injuries are not considered life threatening.

 

The cause of the crash and the driver’s sobriety are under investigation, La Mesa Police report.
