October 31, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) --Poway resident Joe Nalven won the Second Place Award, andj Ellary Brandon, El Cajon received an Honorable Mention Award in the 12th annual Digital Art Show of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3502 Clairemont Dr., San Diego. The show will run October 25-November 22. It includes 28 works by 15 artists on the theme “Reveal the Peace.”
Other winners selected by juror Larry Baza of Noel-Baza Fine Arts are first place, John Valois, Middletown; and third place, Ron Hilley, Hillcrest. Honorable Mention Awards also went to Eric Swenson, Hillcrest, Renata Spiazzi, and Dana Levine, La Jolla; T. Antoinette Fassel, University City; Kris Nieder, Clairemont, and Fitz Maurice, Laguna Beach.
In the youth division the winners were first place, Thomas Fitzmaurice; second place, Justin DiProfio; and Honorable Mention Awards, Erin Murphy and Joey Murphy. All were from Clairemont.
Awards will be presented on Saturday, October 31, at 1:30pm in the church sanctuary, 3502 Clairemont Drive. The JELLS Clarinet Quintet will provide special music. A reception will follow in the church’s Social Hall.
The show is open for free viewing 10am-4pm on Saturdays October 31, November 7, 14, and 21. The show may be seen outside these by calling the church office, 858-273-1480.
