Same-sex marriage ruling tops agenda

July 9, 2015 (Santee) – Brad Dacus of the Pacific Justice Institute will be the featured speaker at tonight’s East County California Republican Assembly meeting. Dacus will address the recent Supreme Court decision which declared same-sex marriage legal nationwide.

“What does this mean for us and what do we do?” asked an email sent to CRA members, which says the decision reflects a “disregard for the Constitution.”

Also on the agenda will be Santee Mayor Randy Voepel, who is a candidate for the 71st Assembly District seat being vacated by Brian Jones, who will leave office due to term limits. (Next month, Mike Harrison, who is also running for the seat, will be on the agenda.)

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Jimmy’s Restaurant, 9635 Mission Gorge Road in Santee.

To RSVP, contact Frank Hilliker at 619-889-7772 or Sylvia at sylvias@usa.net.
