May 27, 2013 (San Diego) – The San Diego Chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) has named East County resident Lawrence O’Leary president of its board of directors.  The San Diego Chapter of the CLCA aims to serve, protect and promote professionalism; and advance public awareness of the landscape industry.

O’Leary is director of sales and marketing at Hydro-Scape Products Inc., a leading provider of landscape and irrigation supplies. Hydro-Scape has 18 different locations serving Southern California, Hawaii and international locations.

In his free time, O’Leary spent nine years as an adjunct soils instructor at Cuyamaca College promoting water reduction in landscape, reduced fertilizer load and minimizing point source pollution. Also, he participated in habitat reconstruction for the endangered desert tortoises which mitigated the damage from solar farms and windmill projects.

“Lawrence brings a wealth of experience to his role as president of the San Diego Chapter of the CLCA” said outgoing San Diego Chapter President Sharon May. “I know we can count on his dedication and expertise to help the organization continue moving forward and promoting public awareness of the landscape industry.”
