May 6, 2018 (Monterrey, Mexico) - On their last day in Mexico, the Padres tried to take the series against the Dodgers. Ross Stripling started for LA against Eric Lauer.

It was deadlocked until the fifth when Eric Hosmer blasted a home run to center that was good for two runs and the Padres jumped out in front 2-0.  It was Hosmer’s fifth home run of the season.

Franchy Cordero added a neat finishing touch with a little looper to short left center in the seventh to score Travis Jankowski and give the Pads a 3-0 win to take the Mexico series two games to one.

The Padres return to San Diego tomorrow to face the Nationals.  First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.  SDSU alum Stephen Strasburg will pitch for the Nats against Tyson Ross.
