April 27, 2017 (Phoenix) - The Padres managed to win last night!  Tonight was the last game of a four-game series with the Diamondbacks.  Could they split?  We would see!  Jered Weaver started on the mound against Taijuan Walker for the Dbacks.

The Padres saw scoring early work for the Dbacks, so they decided to try it.  Yangervis Solarte singled to score Wil Myers and the Padres took a 1-0 lead.

But from that moment on, the Diamondbacks took over.  Chris Owings homered in the third to tie the game at one.

In the fourth, Yasmany Tomas knocked a two-run homer out to give Arizona a 3-1 lead.  Owings homered again to make the score 4-1.

In the sixth, Tomas doubled to score Paul Goldschmidt and make the score 5-1.

Ryan Schimpf tried to help out the Pads with a homer in the seventh that made the score 5-2, but in the eighth, a wild pitch by Miguel Diaz brought Jake Lamb home and the Dbacks won the rubber game 6-2 and the series 3-1.

The Padres come back to California tomorrow, but they head to the Bay Area to face the Giants.  Luis Perdomo will start for the Padres against Jeff Samadzija for the Giants. First pitch is at 7:15 p.m.
