April 15, 2017 (San Diego) -- A woman, 60, was driving south on I-15 near Miramar Road Thursday at noon when she inexplicably came out of her vehicle and landed on the roadway, Officer E. Colunga with California Highway Patrol reports.  She was struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

A Chevy S-10 driven by Pablo Munoz swerved to avoid hitting the woman and hit a concrete wall in the center divide.  Sandoval, who was driving a BMW, was unable to avoid hitting the woman, Officer Calunga says.

The CHP is seeking witnesses to this collision, or anyone who has information on the driver of the unknown vehicle that fled the scene after striking the woman.  If you have information, please call Officer Colunga at the San Diego CHP office at 619-220-5492.
