FAMILY FUN PLUS FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS AT KIDS CARE FEST IN LA MESA SATURDAY

September 23, 2011 (La Mesa)—The 10th annual Kids Care Fest is a fun and free interactive family event sponsored by Grossmont Healthcare District, La Mesa Park & Recreation Foundation and the City of La Mesa. Festivities take place at at Briercrest Park, 9001 Wakarusa Street in La Mesa from 9-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.

 

Over 50 exhibits for families with children will be provided, including free health screenings from healthcare professionals and free information from pediatricians, a pharmacist and a dermatologist. More free activities include sports, face painting, Rady's Safety Store, water safety and organic produce information, astro & bungee jumps, pony rides, La Mesa's Fire and Police Departments, Lemon Grove's Fire Safety Trailer and nonprofit organizations (including East County Magazine and Viejas Wildfire Alerts), many with interactive displays.

 

Each child receives a goodie bag to put their hands-on activities in when visiting the booths. Children receive a free reading book and lunch whiles supplies last.

 

Kids Care Fest is a smoke-free event. Free parking is available at Sharp Grossmont Hospital's Brier Patch campus at 9000 Wakarusa Street.
