July 23, 2018 (La Mesa) – A family of four and the driver who struck their vehicle Sunday were all transported to hospitals, Patch.com. reports.

According to Heartland Fire and Rescue spokesman Sonny Saghera, the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro tried to cross multiple lanes on southbound state Route 125 in a last-minute effort to merge onto state route 94. He crashed into a guard rail, then hit a Ford Fiesta carrying two adults and two children.

The Camero overturned and the driver, who was seriously injured, was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital.  The family was taken to Sharp Memorial.  No update has been provided as yet on their condition.

The crash caused a shutdown of 125 after the accident, which occurred at 1:45 on Sunday afternoon.
