April 1, 2015, 2015 (San Diego’s East County)--This week’s Destination East County includes egg-stravaganzas, an Easter bunny train and a harmonica festival.

We’ll also have a preview of coming attractions including a baroque music concert at Cuyamaca College, the Taste of Julian country culinary tour, the world famous Romeros brothers performing classical guitar music, and a Flash Jam featuring hundreds of musicians playing old-time fiddle music across the town of Julian.

MAYPOLE & MORE IN SPRING FESTIVAL IN LA MESA

March 31, 2015 (La Mesa) -- Have you ever seen a Maypole dance? Now’s your chance. Bring your family to the NUA Sparrow Charter School Spring Festival on Sunday May 3, 10-11:30 a.m. for the maypole event followed by the festival 11:30 to 3 p.m.

There will be live music by Hullabaloo, Kathryn the Grape, Teagan Taylor and Olmeca Roots.

FIVE CHOICES DREAM DRAWING TO BENEFIT HERITAGE OF THE AMERICAS MUSEUM

 

March 31, 2015 (Rancho San Diego)--In conjunction with the Spring Garden Festival at Cuyamaca College, the Heritage of the Americas Museum holds a very special drawing each year,  the "Five-Choices Dream Drawing."  The drawing will take place at the museum on Saturday, April 25, at 2:00 p.m.  The prizes represent the four wings of the Museum:  Natural History, Archaeology, Anthropology, and Art, ranging from pre-Columbian artifacts to a carved amethyst and quartz swan.

EXPLORE MISSION TRAILS DAY: FREE FAMILY FUN MAY 16 AT MISSION TRAILS

 

March 29, 2015 (San Diego)--Connecting with Nature is the theme of the 2015 Explore Mission Trails Day at Mission Trails Regional Park on  Saturday, May 16th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This popular event features free guided nature walks, talks and programs throughout the park, including live animals and special programs for children from pony rides to a climbing wall.

CAJON CLASSIC CRUISES: SEASON OPENS APRIL 22

 

March 24, 2015 (El Cajon) – Get ready to rev up – Cajon Classic Cruises is rolling out its 2015 season starting Wednesday, April 22nd with a full street closure for opening night.  The cruises will continue all summer long on Wednesday nights from 5 to 8 p.m.

The second week, April 29th will celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  Other  highlights include Jimmie Johnson night on July 22nd , a Military Tribute June 17th, Thunder on Main on September 30th, and Trunk or Treat on October 28th at season’s end.

March 26, 2015 (Ramona) -- This Saturday, March 28th,te Ramona Music Fest will feature emerging talent and popular San Diego musicians playing everything from rock to reggae and from country to Americana.
 
This all-day outdoor event benefits the Ramona Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. It will be held at the Ramona Outdoor Community Center, 421 Aqua Lane in Ramona.

SANTEE STREET FAIR AND CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL MAY 23

 

March 11, 2015 (Santee) - The Santee Chamber of Commerce invites you to join over 30,000 visitors at the Santee Street Fair and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Festival highlights include: a craft beer festival, live music and entertainment, a crafter row and artist alley, over 300 food and vendor booths, carnival rides and games for the family. In celebration of Memorial Day weekend, there will also be a tribute to our veterans. This free event will be held at Riverview Parkway and Town Center Parkway in Santee.

ROCK HOUSE/BORDER PATROL TRAIL HIKE IN JACUMBA FEB. 28

On Saturday, February 28th the group will meet at the Jacumba Spa (44500 Old Highway 80) then head out along the Border Patrol Trail to Airport Mesa and the Rock House for a five mile hike.

VALLECITO DAY MARCH 28 CELEBRATES 1860'S LIFE ON THE FRONTIER

 

February 16,2015 (Vallecitos) – Take a trip back in time to life on the 1860s frontier during Vallecito Day on March 28th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vallecito County Park.  Visit pioneer men and women in period attire,  join in activities of the era, and learn about the roles of cattle drives and cattle ranching played on the Southern Overland Trail.  Witness the arrival of trail riders on horseback, visit a mountain man camp, see cattl ranching demonstrations, and hear historic talks.
