November 28, 2010 (Lakeside)--Lakeside Historical Society opens its annual Christmas Resale Shoppe on December 1st.  The  shoppe will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Christmas Eve, December 24th.

KROC THEATRE PRESENTS A CHRISTMAS CAROL DEC. 10-12

 

 

November 28, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – The Salvation Army Kroc Center Kroc Kids Junior Theatre Company will A Christmas Carol on December 10-12. The beloved holiday production retains its emotional power and pure joy thanks to the marvelously-told story by Ockrent and Ahrens and the powerful Menken/Ahrens score filled with beautiful melodies and emotional lyrics. Sixty youths ages 7-19 will perform.

SHERIFF'S HOLIDAY BREAKFAST WITH SANTA: DEC. 3 AND 4 IN LEMON GROVE

 

Funds to benefit senior citizens with no local family members

 

November 25, 2010 (Lemon Grove)--The Sheriff’s Lemon Grove Station, Lemon Grove Kiwanis, and Spring Valley Kiwanis will host a Holiday Pancake Breakfast on Friday and Saturday, December 3 & 4,  from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk and orange juice will be served. Children can also visit with Santa at the United Methodist Church.

November 24, 2010 (Alpine) -- The Alpine Woman's Club Christmas Home Tour will be held on Sunday, December 5th, 2010 from 10am to 4pm. This is your Chance to enjoy 5 beautifully decorated Alpine homes!

 

This fundraiser helps to provide scholarships for college bound Alpine high school seniors, and to maintain the historic Town Hall which was built in 1899.

November 14, 2010 (Santee) -- The city of Santee is doing its part to prevent the holidays from becoming ho-ho-ho-hum.A special events team from the Community Services Department has choreographed an event that features some unlikely holiday pairings: Santa Claus, live Doo-wop music, skating on synthetic ice, and an old-fashioned horse-and-carriage ride.

November 18, 2010 (San Diego)--You can help the U.S. Marine Corps and San Diego County put smiles on the faces of less fortunate children this holiday season by donating new, unwrapped toys at County airports in Fallbrook, Ramona, Carlsbad, El Cajon and Borrego Springs during the Marines’ annual Toys for Tots campaign. County residents can drop off their donated toys at each of the airports any time up until Dec. 4, with the exception of Fallbrook Airpark, which will continue collecting donations until Dec. 11.

JINGLE PAWS WALK & MORE DOG-GONE FUN DEC. 4

 

November 10, 2010 (El Cajon)--The Second Annual Jingle Paws Pet Walk and adoption event, sponsored by the ACES Foundation (Animal Center for Education and Services) and Camp Bow Wow, will be held on Saturday, December 4.  The event runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wells Park, 1153 E. Madison Avenue in El Cajon.

 

Following a brisk 9 a.m. walk around the park, pets and their owners can enjoy Santa's Village filled with fun pet  activities, vendors, goodies, and adoptable pets--just in time for the holidays.

EL CAJON SALUTES OUR VETERANS

 

November 11, 2010 (El Cajon) – In honor of Veterans Day on November 11th, Supervisor Dianne Jacob will join the El Cajon Flag Committee for a flag display by Boy Scouts of America at 9:30 a.m. Congressman Duncan D. Hunter will also make an appearance at 5:30 p.m.

 

Both events are slated to take place at 250 E. Main Street in front of the courthouse and East County Performing Arts Center.

November 10, 2010 (Campo) -- In association with Santa Claus, the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo announces the sixth annual North Pole Limited Christmas Trains. Rides begin Thanksgiving weekend on November 26 and run through December 18.
