August 30, 2017 (Ramona) - The 5th annual Ramona Art and Wine Festival will be held at Begent Ranch, 18528 Highland Valley Road, Ramona, Calif., on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Early-bird discounted tickets are available now at http://ramonaartandwinefest.net.

Attendees can view and purchase fine art done in acrylic, glass, mixed media, jewelry, oil, sculptures, and watercolor media. Area wineries will provide tastes of hand-crafted wine. New this year is a food pavilion of catered appetizers, lunch entrée and dessert in a joint presentation by John Little Catering & Something Delicious Catering, picnic style under the shade of a giant oak tree. The Food Pavilion and wine tasting are included in the General Admission Passport ($65 until October 1; $77 after October 1.) Local businesses will be on hand to bring event-related items for sale.

The event will be held at the scenic Ramona-esque ranch venue provided by Molly Jaeger-Begent and David Begent with live music to add to the festivities.

Live Auction of Uniquely-Painted Wine Barrels

Highlighting the event is a live auction of six wine barrels painted by local artists. A “Display of Barrels” will precede the Festival when local Barrel Hosts will exhibit them for public viewing. This year’s barrel host sponsors are: Boll Weevil restaurant; Chris Anderson, REALTOR (barrel will be displayed at Ramona Family Naturals); D’Carlos restaurant; San Vicente Resort; Walter Andersen Nursery (Poway); and Bright Yoga. 

Artists of the uniquely painted barrels include: Lynette Bredow, Lyn Feudner, Samantha Marsch, Jackie Neal, Tracey Weinzapfel, and Pam Wilder.

Artists’ Wine and Cheese Reception, October 27

Also new this year, the Festival will host an “Artists Wine and Cheese Reception” on Friday, October 27, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at 2Create Gallery, 438 Main Street, Ramona, CA 92065.  The public will meet the artists displaying their work at the Festival and also preview the six hand-painted barrels to be auctioned at the Festival.

Purchase Tickets Now

Tickets can be purchased from the Festival web site at http://ramonaartandwinefest.net.

General Admission Passport: $65 until Saturday, October 1, 2017; $77 after October 1, 2017. General Admission Passports include: tastes of handcrafted award-winning wine from area wineries and food from the food pavilion, artwork displays and sales by fine artists, a live auction of six wine barrels painted by local artists, and live music.

A general admission ticket is available for $35 for those who want to enter the festival, view and purchase fine art, participate in live and silent auctions, and enjoy the live music without tasting wine or food. Entry-Only tickets can be upgraded on site.

The proceeds from the Festival will benefit the Ramona H.E.A.R.T. Mural Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, with the mission to celebrate Ramona’s cultural heritage through an outdoor visual arts program.
