Not Just Calfire

This fire was primarily handled by Central Zone fire agencies as it was in their jurisdiction (Lakeside Fire District). Responding agencies included: Heartland Fire-Rescue, Lakeside, Alpine, Santee, Barona, Sycuan, and Viejas. San Miguel/Calfire (Crest, Bostonia, Vista Grande) engines were also on the initial dispatch due to their proximity to the incident. San Diego Sheriff ASTREA Copters 10 and 11 were also on the incident. In addition to being located in the Lakeside Fire District, this area is also in "State Responsibility Area" or SRA, thus the additional Calfire response (engines, crews, overhead) including fixed-wing aircraft. As you may recall, residents living in SRA are assessed an additional tax ($152.33) every year for "fire prevention" activities. It is instructive to understand that local fire agencies DO NOT receive any of this revenue.
