GROSSMONT CENTER CELEBRATES 50 YEARS IN BUSINESS TODAY WITH A "GROOVY" '60s CELEBRATION

September 24, 2011 (La Mesa)--Grossmont Center invites you put on your 60's threads and come to a to a free family-friendly celebration that's a blast from the past.

 

The party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at East County's oldest shopping mall includes flashbacks of 60’s music, dance, fashion, history, crafts, automobiles and more! Bring your cameras and your smiles, as there will be plenty of reasons to take pictures. You may even see a 60's icon or two.

 

105.7 The Walrus, is hosting a 60’s Costume Contest at the radio station's booth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to win tickets to see HAIR at the San Diego Civic theatre.  A celebration ceremony begins at 11:00am in Macy's Courtyard followed by live entertainment and other festivities throughout the mall until 3:00 p.m. For more details visit grossmontcenter.com

 

Grossmont Center established a community partnership when its doors opened and has donated over $2 million dollars to local charities. The missions of these charities are in education, health and well-being and futures of the youth. In 2011 alone more than $50K will be donated to these and other local charities.

  

The center's current campaign “Shopping is in our nature” is an integrated program that incorporates the center’s award winning landscape.
