HEAT WAVE! TRIPLE-DIGIT TEMPERATURES FORECAST FOR WEEKEND

September 23, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – The National Weather Service predicts hot weather across Southern California this weekend and early next week. High pressure building over the west along with weak offshore air flow will result in mostly clear skies, low humidity and high temperatures:

COASTAL AREAS................75 TO 90.
COASTAL VALLEYS..............90 TO 100.
INLAND VALLEYS...............102 TO 108.
MOUNTAINS BELOW 6000 FEET....88 TO 98.
MOUNTAINS ABOVE 6000 FEET....80 TO 90.
UPPER DESERTS................98 TO 106.
LOWER DESERTS................102 TO 110.

The National Weather Service advises avoiding strenuous outdoor activities if possible. If you must be outdoors, drink plenty of water, wear lighweight, loose-fitting clothing and a hat for sun protection. Never leave children or pets in a hot car, even for a few minutes.
