July 28, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) -- Construction crews will close southbound State Route 67 between Woodside and Prospect avenues this Thursday night at 9 p.m. and will reopen the lanes at 5 a.m. Friday morning. The southbound Magnolia Avenue on-ramp will also be closed beginning one hour earlier at 8, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

The closures will allow highway workers to remove falsework from the new bridges being constructed. Detour signs will assist motorists around the closures.

The work is part of the $520.5 million State Route 52 Sunny Side Gateway Project scheduled to be completed in 2011. For more information please see the project fact sheet at www.dot.ca.gov/dist11/facts/ or contact the Caltrans Public Information Office at (619) 688-6670.
