ARREST MADE IN LAKESIDE MURDER CASE

April 24, 2016 (Lakeside) – Lance Benson, 29, of Lakeside has been arrested and will be charged with murder for the death of a man found early this morning on a sidewalk by a newspaper delivery person. The victim has been identified as Trammel Joseph Rizzuti, age 35 and the death was caused by sharp force trauma.

At about 4:20 this morning, the Sheriff's Department Communications Center received the 911 call from the delivery person, who reporting finding the victim lying on the sidewalk in the 10400 block of Aquilla Drive in Lakeside. Deputies from the Sheriff's Lakeside Sub-Station responded to the area and found the male unresponsive and suffering from trauma to the upper body.

 “Paramedics responded but unfortunately the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” said Lieutenant Kenneth Nelson.

The Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy and will determine the cause and manner of death.
