HOT PROWL BURGLARY IN EL CAJON

January 14, 2016 (El Cajon) - An El Cajon homeowner arrived home to find a burglar in his home in the 2400 block of Chatham Street at 12:30 p.m. today, according to Sgt. J. Larson with the El Cajon Police. 

On January 14 around 12:30 p.m., El Cajon police officers responded to a 911 call from a home in the 2400 block of Chatham St. in El Cajon.  The homeowner reported that he came home to find a burglar in his home. The suspect threatened the homeowner with a knife (which the homeowner did not see) and fled on foot.  

El Cajon police officers set up a perimeter and over the next two hours and with the assistance of the Sheriff's helicopter and CHP canines conducted a thorough search of the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30’s with a muscular build, wearing jeans and no shirt.  Police cannot confirm whether or not a red Honda located near the scene is the suspect's vehicle.
