THE HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH FILM FESTIVAL JANUARY 24-28

January 22, 2013 (San Diego) – The Museum of Photographic Arts, in community partnership with Survivors of Torture, International, The IRC, and other community partners is hosting the third year of the Human Rights Watch Film Festival in San Diego from Jan. 22 – 28 at 1649 El Prado, San Diego.  This film event has been described by the New York Times as the “cinematic conscience of the world.”

The Human Rights Watch Film Festival is the foremost showcase for films with a distinctive human rights theme and creates a forum for courageous individuals on both sides of the lens to empower audiences. The festival includes six films covering a wide range of current human rights issues, form the perils that reporters face on a regular basis in Tijuana to an uplifting story of a women’s basketball team in Iraq. Single screening tickets are $4 for MOPA members, $6 for students, seniors and military and $8 for the general public.  Festival passes are available for $15 for MOPA members, $25 for students, senior and military and $35 for the general public.
