March 21, 2018 (San Diego) -- Somali Family Service (SFS) will host the fifth Annual Youth Summit on Saturday, April 22nd.  The theme of this year's Youth Summit is "Inspiring the next generation of leaders to make a change."

The summit will take place at the University of San Diego (USD) at Salomon Hall, 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego from 11 a.m.to 6 p.m.

All community members and students are invited. Register here

This year SFS is collaborating with USD to engage San Diego youth and community in a dialogue about the future, and where we are headed.

The summit will aim towards bringing awareness to the importance of establishing a legacy, setting achievable goals to pursue, and navigating resources to best achieve those goals. The Youth Summit will focus on significant topics to the youth of today—balancing academic life as well as their future professional life.

The Youth Summit will also provide workshops for students administered by industry professionals who will give various workshops on the importance of staying engaged in their educational path - and the eventual transition into the workplace. A key focus of this Youth Summit is thinking larger than self. How to best serve and positively change not only ourselves and our communities - but the larger community and the world. Please join us for a day of inspiration, motivation, and change.

Food will be provided as well as spoken word poetry performances.
