INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE TO BE CELEBRATED SEPT. 16 IN LA MESA

August 1, 2018 (La Mesa) – The Interfaith Council of La Mesa is sponsoring its fifth annual peace and justice event as part of the International Day of Peace on Sunday, September 16th from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the La Mesa Community Center, 4975 Memorial Drive in La Mesa.

The theme, as declared by the United Nations, is “Together for Peace: Respect, Justice and Dignity for All.”   Representatives from various  faith traditions will give testimony to a commitment to promote peace and justice, support diversity, non-discrimination, and respect for all.

Following presentations, there will be opportunities to learn of the outreach activities of various churches and faith traditions located in La Mesa and time to share ideas about ways to bring about peace and justice both locally and globally.
